Rules and Scoring
Moosenet Prediction League 2010-2011

What YOU have to do.

It's simple, really.
All that's wanted from you is, for each match, your prediction of....

The scoreline
e.g. Cambridge United 5 Peterborough United 0
For games which might go to extra-time, always predict the situation at 90 minutes.
ONE Cambridge United goalscorer
Pick one even if you think Cambridge United won't score.
Some cup games won't feature Cambridge United - pick ONE scorer, doesn't matter who he plays for.
Goals scored in extra-time don't count.
The attendance

Points are awarded for accuracy as listed below.
That's all you need to know! But if you want to know more, read on....

Special regulations

Where predictors have not submitted a prediction during the course of a season, they will be relegated to the lowest division. Where applicable, numbers of predictors in each division will be maintained first by reprieving predictors from relegation. Only if further action is required will extra promotion places be granted.

Where points are level, ties are broken by comparing records in the following order - most points scored for predicting the result (Rs), points for goalscorers (Gl), then mean error in attendance (AttEr).

Ties in cup competitions are decided by the above criteria followed by, where applicable, total points (then result points, goals etc) scored in that competition up to that point.

Where neither predictor in a knockout stage of a cup has submitted a prediction, neither proceeds to the next round and their place is taken by the highest-scoring loser amongst the other ties.

In cup competitions, points may be scored in replayed matches during the qualifying phase only. During the knockout phase, results are based on the scheduled tie(s) only.

Joke entries will be discarded - persistent offenders will be banned.

The webmaster's decision on all things is both wise and final.
